Who knew checking out grad programs could be so emotionally draining and depressing?
Should I move back to Canada for permanent residency only to apply for student loans to study in Europe at international rates? Or stay as a resident in UK and pretend to save on a UK living wage for UK fees or cheaper EU fees? Do I really want to get into more debt over school?
And that's only just the financial part.
Do I want to go to a top 50 University again so that it looks good if I apply for a doctorate program?
What program : classics, archaeology, history, geography? Some Classics programs require a steady grasp of Latin and Greek (my grasp is empty). I can't really boast over two years of Biblical Hebrew as an ancient language since I have sadly forgotten so much. Political and economic history interests me the most. There are also some human geography programs that appear promising.
At least I've narrowed it down to the UK and the Netherlands for English speaking programs.
The important question is: what do I do with this degree after? Teach? Twiddle my thumbs? Have my parents hang it up on their wall to tell the neighbors who probably associate archaeology with digging up dinosaur bones.
But for right now I will go into my corner and cry about my first world problems.
