Smarts

My Practicing Tolerance in a Religious Society: The Church and the Jews in Italy course offers monthly quizzes it appears. I just scored 100% without reading the material.

Question1 asked "In the view of this lecture, the difference in the level of religious "tolerance" between Christendom and Islam in the Middle Ages had more to do with the conditions under which the two faiths came to power than with an inherent ideological difference towards other religions. Do you agree or disagree?"

I would argue that the conditions under which these two faiths rose to power play an immense role in their level of religious "tolerance." (This was the correct answer, but the instructor observed that one could argue otherwise eg. earlier revelations given to "The Peoples of the Book" were the source of Islamic tolerance.)

As interesting as this must be, I should probably nip back to class. Adios.
